University of Portland to host Lisa Ko, visiting Schoenfeldt Writer and author of ‘The Leavers,’ on February 10

Author Lisa Ko’s 2017 debut novel The Leavers is the 2019-2020 selection for University of Portland’s annual ReadUP campaign and the Schoenfeldt Distinguished Visiting Writers series. Ko will give a lecture in Buckley Center Auditorium on Monday, February 10, at 7 p.m. It is free and open to the public. Ko will follow the lecture with a book signing.
University of Portland to host “MLK Day On – Day of Service” and Keynote on January 20

The University of Portland will host “MLK Day On – Day of Service” at Portland-area agencies from 9 a.m. – 1:30 p.m.; and a keynote address by Walidah Imarisha from 3:30 – 5:30 p.m. on Monday, January 20.
University of Portland alumna Jami Resch ’96 named Portland Police Chief

University of Portland alumna Jami Resch ’96 was named Portland police chief on Tuesday, December 31. Prior to this position, Resch was the assistant chief of the investigations branch and had previously served as the acting commander of North Precinct.
