A new gift commitment from Allen and Kathleen Lund brings their lifetime commitment to the University of Portland to $10 million. In recognition, the new residence hall will be named Lund Family Hall.

Dennnis L. Hartmann, a 1971 graduate of the University of Portland's mechanical engineering program and a professor of atmospheric sciences at University of Washington, is one of 84 new members and 21 foreign associates elected as a fellow of the U.S. National Academy of Sciences.
