University of Portland alumnus Peter Chamberlain ’14, a mechanical engineering major and music minor, was featured on the cover of the May 2018 issue of Fargo INC! magazine. He was profiled in the article, “Why Fargo? 13 Business Owners Tell Us,” speaking as president and co-founder of WalkSmart. Founded in 2016, WalkSmart developed the world’s first “smart” walker attachment, capable of tracking the fitness of the user as well as monitoring their health and providing safety alerts. The WalkSmart attachment is monitored through a mobile app that families can download and check, helping them to better care for their aging loved ones.
Since leaving The Bluff, Chamberlain earned a master of science in mechanical engineering from MIT, and now works in product development, manufacturing, and sales at WalkSmart. He lives and works in Fargo, North Dakota. See the magazine article here.
