Money Magazine names UP as one of America's Best Colleges
Awards and Rankings
June 30, 2023
Citing its high graduation rate, strong science and engineering programs, and idyllic campus, Money named the University of Portland among its Best Colleges in the US for 2023.
Money's tiered star rating system examines a variety of factors to determine college rankings across three main categories: quality, affordability, and outcomes. The personal finance website examined 736 institutions across the United States with UP's rating landing it among the country's top universities.
The praise for UP was not limited to its value for prospective students, but also for its student activities and athletics: "When students aren't in class, they can participate in special-interest clubs focused on everything from swing dance to the card game Magic: The Gathering. The Portland Pilots compete in Division I, with women's soccer and men's cross country teams routinely attracting crowds. Another highlight is the Entrepreneur Scholars Program, which gives students the opportunity to meet with experts, check out apprenticeships and test real-world ventures."
This rating and recognition is yet another affirmation of UP's continued commitment to the success and fulfillment of its students.
