Nursing
October 30, 2019

University of Portland’s School of Nursing has opened its newly renovated and updated Simulated Health Center. The Elsie Franz Finley Simulated Health Center and the Nelson Family Simulated Ambulatory Care Center are designed to prepare graduate and undergraduate nursing students with hands-on and real-world experiences. Student nurses will engage in simulations of acute patient care, ambulatory care, specialty care, and home health settings.
This state-of-the-art model health system features 17 acute-care beds, 6 high-fidelity simulation suites, 6 debriefing rooms, 2 control centers, as well as a simulated home health apartment, a telehealth suite, a behavioral health suite, and primary care clinic offices.
The School of Nursing, founded in 1934, is celebrating its 85th anniversary during the 2019-20 academic year. In celebration of the anniversary, the School of Nursing will be hosting a speaker series.
