School of Nursing announces creation of Alumni Steering Committee
Nursing
December 12, 2016
The School of Nursing is proud to announce the creation of the Alumni Steering Committee. The group, comprised of 10 members, aims to connect nursing alumni back to the University, support new nursing graduates, and give back to the local community.
“There are so many UP nursing alumni that are willing and able to give back,” Lynne Slauson, Nursing Alumni chair, said. “We need to tap into that experience to enhance the School of Nursing and highlight all the University of Portland has to offer.”
Current members of the Alumni Steering Committee include: Lynne Slauson, Nursing Alumni chair; Larizza Limjuco Woodruff, faculty alumni liaison; Lindsay Benes, alumni relations; Heather O’Leary, events coordinator; Mary Stempel; Jim Stempel; Kirsten Bergstrom; Emily Harrington; Jennifer Graves; and Joe Tanner.
The first order of business for the committee will be hosting events to reconnect nursing graduates. Photos from the inaugural open house event held in October can be found here. The group is also working to develop a new graduate support program and partnership opportunities with local high schools to highlight the School of Nursing.
For more information on the Alumni Steering Committee, please contact Larizza Limjuco Woodruff at limjucco@up.edu.
