University of Portland ranked 20th nationally among peer schools in number of Peace Corps volunteers

University of Portland is ranked 20th nationally among its peer institutions in producing Peace Corps volunteers, according to a study released today. The University has regularly placed among the top 20 since 2010.

Currently, nine undergraduate alumni are serving in the Peace Corps. Since the Peace Corps was founded in 1961, more than 200 alumni have served as volunteers. 

The University is one of two Portland-area schools to rank among the Top 25 nationally in any of the three classification groups – ‘small schools,’ ‘medium schools,’ and ‘large schools.’ University of Portland, with 3,680 undergraduate students, placed in the ‘small schools’ category along with Lewis & Clark College (tied for 20th with UP).
