The University of Portland community considers Martin Luther King, Jr. Day a day ON (not a day off), in the spirit of Dr. King’s question: “What are you doing for others?” Our MLK Day ON events reflect-in-action UP’s commitments to teaching and learning, faith and formation, and service and leadership.
Sponsors/Hosts: University of Portland Office of International Education, Diversity, and Inclusion and the Office of Student Affairs and Inclusive Excellence (the “Sponsors”), in partnership with the Office of the President, Campus Safety, and Athletics.
What it is: A free student prize drawing / giveaway designed to encourage participation in MLK Day ON 2026 signature events. No tickets are sold. No purchase necessary.
Students earn entries by participating in MLK Day ON 2026 signature events and completing the required check-in for each event.
