Cap & Gown Portrait Sessions
Each year, many students request to borrow caps and gowns for graduation photos. To better support our graduates, the University is offering dedicated Commencement portrait sessions in the lead-up to Commencement Weekend.
During these sessions, students will have access to a University-provided cap and gown and a professional photographer for a brief, staged portrait experience.
Session Dates & Locations
We will offer four portrait days this spring:
- Monday, March 30, from 4:30 – 6:45 p.m.
- Wednesday, April 1, from 4:30 – 7:00 p.m.
- Tuesday, April 7, from 4:30 – 6:00 p.m.
- Thursday, April 16, from 4:30 – 7:30 p.m.
All sessions will take place rain or shine. If weather conditions require a change in location, students will be notified by email on the day of their appointment.
How It Works
- Students must reserve a time in advance using the booking link below
- Each student receives a five-minute photo window
- Caps and gowns are provided on site for photos only and must be returned immediately after the session
- Regalia will only be available during the scheduled portrait sessions, and we are unable to loan caps and gowns outside of these posted times
- Professional photos will be taken and shared after the event
Arrival & Timing
Please plan to arrive 15 minutes early to check in and don regalia if you wish. Due to the tight schedule, late arrivals may not be accommodated.
Who Can Participate
These sessions are intended for graduating University of Portland students. Availability is limited, and appointments are offered on a first-come, first-served basis.
