Campus Crisis Resources

Campus Safety is available to advise and coordinate emergency services on campus, 503.943.4444.

If you have an urgent need to speak with a counselor at any time, you may call the Pilot Helpline (on-call counselors) at 503.943.7134, and select option 3.

For on-campus crisis appointments (same day, in-person appointments): call 503.943.7134 or come to the Health & Counseling Center (Orrico Hall, upper level. 

Crisis appointments are available for students experiencing an urgent need for mental health support. Crises are self-identified by the student. If you say you are in crisis, we believe you. Topics could include: 

  • Active thoughts of suicide or harming others
  • Self-harming thoughts or behaviors
  • Oppression or discrimination
  • Family or relationship crisis
  • Sexual assault or other interpersonal violence
  • Other self-identified crisis

During the crisis appointment, a UP mental health clinician will work with you to ensure safety and develop a safety plan with referrals to other urgent support as needed. 

 

Care for Survivors of Sexual Assault

The Health & Counseling Center is a confidential resource and we strive to provide trauma-informed care that supports your needs. The type of care that you receive and actions that you take after an assault are entirely your choice. 

Same day healthcare and mental health appointments are available for survivors of sexual or interpersonal violence. Call 503.943.7134 to schedule an appointment. If you get the voicemail, please leave a message with your name and phone number and you will get a call back before the end of the business day.

Confidential Advocacy & Survivor Support - If you, or someone you care about, has experienced gendered or sexual harassment or interpersonal violence, a Confidential Advocates can help you strategize next steps and advocate for resources. They have been trained to provide trauma-informed support and are not required to report to Title IX.
