After-Hours Healthcare

Health Services at the Health & Counseling Center operates as a primary care clinic. While we reserve same-day appointments for more immediate injury and illnesses, those with urgent medical needs may be advised to visit an off-campus urgent care facility or emergency room. 

If you are experiencing a medical emergency, please call 911, Campus Safety at 503.943.4444, or go to the nearest emergency room. Visit Emergency Medical Resources for a list of local emergency departments.

Virtual Medical Appointments

Providence ExpressCare Virtual

Providence offers same-day phone and online video visits for minor illnesses and injuries. You can see a board-certified clinician right away using your smartphone or computer and no appointment is needed. These visits are available to students from 8:00am to 8:00pm, 7 days a week at a reduced cost. To access this service, log on to the Providence ExpressCare Virtual portal by following the instructions below:

Computer

1. Go to https://virtual.providence.org/ and click "Start Your Visit Now" to sign-up for a new account or login to your existing account.
2. Choose Oregon as your location.
   Note: If you are not physically in the state of Oregon, this service may not be available to you.
3. Using your UP email address, follow the prompts to complete your profile or login.
4. When asked about health insurance, select "Service Key".
   IMPORTANT: Under "Payment Information", enter "UOFPVIRTUAL" in the Service Key field to ensure that the UP discount is applied. Once entered, you should see green text reading "Service key applied."
5. Confirm your information to enter the waiting room. Allow the site to access your microphone and camera.
6. Make sure you have your Student ID ready to show the provider.
7. Once connected, your visit will begin!

Phone

1. Download the Providence ExpressCare Virtual app on your phone. You can get the QR code to download the app at https://virtual.providence.org/.

   Choose "No health plan needed" for your insurance.
3. To begin your visit, select "Virtual Visit", and choose Oregon as your location.
