ASCE: American Society of Civil Engineers
The American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE) is the student chapter of the professional organization for civil engineers. As a club, they design and build a concrete canoe every year to compete at their regional conference. They also host networking opportunities with professional civil engineers.

Electric Vehicle Design Club
We are a student-led engineering and community outreach organization dedicated to building, perfecting, and testing an electric go-kart over the course of the year. In May, we plan to compete in the EV Grand Prix in Indianapolis to showcase the potential of electric vehicles.

Global Engineering Initiative
As a club, Engineers Without Borders uses their skills and knowledge to provide engineering solutions to communities lacking in resources, both domestically and abroad. Robotics Club
Founded to foster interest in robotics, the UP Robotics Club provides tools and resources to students of the University of Portland to allow them to research, design, and develop a robot that will compete in NASA's Robotic Mining Competition. The UP Robotics Team is an interdisciplinary team, consisting of Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Civil Engineering, and Computer Science members. The goal of the competition is to design and develop a regolith excavating robot while adhering to certain design constraints. Tau Beta Pi - Engineering Honors Society
Chapter: UP Tau Beta Pi, OR Gamma
Tau Beta Pi is the only engineering honor society representing the entire engineering profession. The Tau Beta Pi Association was founded at Lehigh University in 1885 by Edward Higginson Williams Jr., to mark in a fitting manner those who have conferred honor upon their Alma Mater by distinguished scholarship and exemplary character as students in engineering, or by their attainments as alumni in the field of engineering, and to foster a spirit of liberal culture in engineering colleges.
